I got it with smoke/obsidian as well.
the breeding guide saids obsidion and smoke.
Tried breeding smoke ad obsidian but I got 48 hrs, sad and excited to see what I got
I may be wrong but I think that would be solar eclipse.
Could also be rainbow
Solstice as well. I could be wrong.
it’s solar eclipse. its the only other epic dragon in the combo. i now have 3 solars incubating and will probably wait until later today when they disappear to try again.
Solstice is 23 hrs so it cannot be that one, it is most probable that it is a solar eclipse
can be solsistice though need blazing

I just got a 31 hr breeding time with smoke & obsidian . I looked on the dragonvale Wikipedia & it gave this combination.
I got a garnet too with smoke and obsidian on my 4th time!! Thank you.

Got it using the Smoke/Obsidian combo on the upgraded EBI. Took me a lot of tries, and i had to buy some gems, but totally worth it, i now have all available dragons.

Ok I did this combo 20 times.. Wasted 300 gems and 10$..I’m pissed!!.. Y can’t I ever be the person to post.. 1st try or 5th try.. It’s always like 15-20.. Sometimes 30.. RrRrrr
i bred this and got a 48 hour breeding time augghh i already have a gold jeez i always get rare dragons when i don’t want them i was trying to get seasonal and i got rainbow and the wholee time they had the bring em back and i kept trying to get dragons i got 3 leap years and i already had them from before -.-
I got one to but it was a solar eclipse.. Very frustrated with this right now.. I have no luck.. I don’t hack gems so all my stuff is bought gems or I wait it out!!..
Man this I a let down….. It’s my gemstone and I thought it would be a little but more pleasing to the eye…
Man this is one ugly dragon! Since garnet is not the prettiest of birthstones I wasn’t expecting it to look beautiful or anything, but since this is my birth month I was hoping for something a little cuter.

Chee HOOO. Got my garnet dragon smoke + obsidian man this one was so hard to get harder than all the rest of the gem dragons must have bred at least 80 times if not more ….very happy also got good news from backflip that I have bred every single dragon there is …I almost have doubles of all my dragons ..really I couldn’t have done it without the Doc’s help…..so KUDOS for you Doc you are Da BOMB…..ditty …..I so love this game….come and visit my dragon island….I already have 6 faithful gem-givers but I would like to see other dragon islands my game center name is….noelania. Also have a android with a gem tree but have no idea how to get friends can anyone help 🙂 Happy New Year 2013 fellow drogoneers.

I’ve tried it at least a dozen times and haven’t gotten it. Only solar eclipse. What am I doing wrong??
Keep trying I got it on my 17th.. Very frustrating!!.. Lol
It took me about 19 times and I ended up with more solar eclipse dragons than I know what to do with.
