It just looks like a solid gold egg I have two of them
1st try I got another obsidian. 2nd try I got a firework dragon. 3rd try I got 48 hours. I’m breeding in this order: smoke and obsidian. Doc do u have any idea what I could have

Still no luck with this one but I’ve been trying to breed it in the cave cuz I was going for emerald and pearl on my island.
Looking for friends in the game. I already have my gem traders but it would be nice to have some “neighbors”. I’ve only been playing a month and a half now so I don’t know many people from the dragonvale community! Everyone seems super nice though. I’d love to see your islands.

I switched this breeding pair to EBI and still no luck but eventually I got another smoke and obsidian so I put a second pair in my cave and BAM! First try! Sometimes I think it helps to have a fresh pair when you get stuck. Worth a try at least.

It seems to be all luck. I have two each of Obsidian and Smoke and surprisingly got one on the island and one in the cave. Maybe because it’s my birthstone 🙂

Doesn’t work I’m on like my 6th try!!! I keep getting another obsidian dragon, lava dragon, and smoke dragon!! This is getting really annoying now
With all the “old dragons” back…i think it is skewing the odds a bit as the element combos are similar to dragons in the ‘past’!
Just keep trying!! Switch out with hatchlings from the breedings where you got what u used originally…the KEY is patience!!!

So ice been trying to breed garnet since I built this gemstone island and I haven’t had any luck I’ve tried four times with obsidian and smoke but no luck I’m still going to try this combo if anyone has gotten it with another combo please feel free to let me know………….I also need three peoe to trade gems with I play at all times of the day updating my park every hous on the hour so I play a lot GN is jfkstinger i also have been trying to get any rare breeds but have no luck please send different breed combos as far as rare goes…….share a gem with me ill share with you
I have been breeding none stop for 4 days ane get the same ones over and over, so over this dragon I quit besides when u reach level 40 the game is so so boring anyway because all u can do is breed sell and raise food to get your dragons to level 20 and the food it takes is over the top and for what? When they reach level 20 that is it. Need more Islands, levels and cut the cost of food to get to level 20.
I agree with you. I have been non stop with both breeding dens, young and old dragons more times than any other dragon… I’m tired and out of gems. I’m switching combos to bones and firework or blazing??? May work may not but I should at least not see any more solar… Love that dragon but not the time and gems it consumes. I see a break coming if I have no success this weekend… I’m almost to the point of starting for the level 20 and had hoped it would be something more so I’m glad you posted what you did :0). Still love this game but maybe they will add some new things this year…

Been trying to get this Dragon from the start yet all I did get are a ton of Blazings, 2 Solar Eclipse, a couple of Fireworks, a couple of Ghosts, a Bone and so many Obsidians..

Hey guys if u have an egg and u don’t know what it is just go to dragonvale wiki and go to egg chart. They show all 95 eggs and how to breed them once u click the egg design.
So I’m trying to breed garnet I’ve tried numerous times obsidian and smoke but no luck any other combos and I’m also looking for three people to trade gems with everyday I tried a gem today already so I only have two left today send me one and Ill send you one…..GC : jfkstinger

Is anyone else getting tired of this “Bring ’em Back” thing? I don’t want any more Solar Eclipse, Bone, Firework, or any other dragon that shouldn’t be available right now. If I get a ‘rare’ dragon from breeding a Smoke and Obsidian I want it to be a Garnet, darnit!

It took 7 days, with both islands and 2 attempts per day per island and got it on the approx 28th attempt! Don’t give up!
