Okay, so I have been trying this combo since posted and have gotten either Salamander, Coral, Firefly and etc… Both dragons are level 15 and have been on EBI and EBC… Help???
Just keep tryin’. It’s all a matter of odds — you might get really lucky and get it the first try or you might never get (frustrating, I know). But other than buying one with gems, there is no “sure fire” method.

You are such a sweetheart for all the many gems you have gifted me over the months, if I could figure out how to gift back I would gift you every day that I played DV. But sadly I think I have figured out why nobody is on my DV friend list, It’s probably because I only have an IOS 4.2.1 or some weird #*%&. Anyway, when the day finally comes that I get to upgrade my device, I won’t forget your kindness my dear you have my word on that. Thanks again to you and a few other players that still occasionally send me gems even though I must seem like a brat that never returns the favor I’m not I simply cannot figure out how to make it work. Dear cephalotus, As I said back when I wrote this I would not forget your kindness. Now I have upgraded devices however I had to start a new account and I opened it with facebook and cannot figure out how to get to game center. Any ideas anyone?

Ok, so I got the jade dragon, now how do I get it onto the gemstone island?
Has anyone noticed that this dragon does not earn as many gems as a typical gemstone dragon? That is something to be considered when keeping it. It is only worth keeping if you DON’T have all the gemstone dragons yet. Sure hop they make an upgrade for the gem island soon.

I’ve lost four of my 6. I gained two more in the last couple days so I now have 4, but I’m still looking for 2 more. I send the first gem to prove I’m legit. I don’t ask you to send first then disappear like most of the requesters in these posts. No gems are exchanged until after I accept your friend request then I send first. I’ve tried this combo about 50 times with no luck.
That happens all the time. And I figured something out, it might not work for you. Every time they introduce a new dragon, there is a NEW DECORATION. I wanted Jade and I was getting frustrated. I was browsing and I saw the Jade tree. So I bought a couple. I got 2 Jade Dragons and it happened to me when Turquoise Dragon came out. Also when they introduced another island there was a dragon (don’t remember) and for the life of me no luck. Until I bought the island. Another time I remember getting 13 Topaz dragons

I’ve got this dragon using the above combo – But its rubbish! Only 2 gems per month at its top level! :O
Best this to do if you get the egg, is just display it, as thats all its worth!

Where can I put it?
I already have the other 12 Gemstone dragons occupying my island & 10 hours to go before I have an overload. I need to hatch this beastie to check off the goal, but where do I put him? Seems a bit off to not give us the space to house him once hatched.
Have you got two of 1 dragon. If you have sell one. The you will have room. If not put it in the hibernation cave.
I think I got it. Salamander x Plasma and a 20-something breeding time. Second try too! Just trying for the double rainbow now (snow x seaweed + ash x salamander)!

This dragons a joke, 52 tries with lvl 15 dragons.. its taken over 3 weeks solid and I still can’t get one. Is this really the only combo ? :l
I absolutely agree. Both upgraded breeding dens on constant shuffle with level 20s, using gems and Kairos as soon as they’re available and STILL nothing… It’s a tad ridiculous. :/
OMG I know!!! I keep trying an trying. Have been since its been out!! Lvl 15 dragons and kept in the EBC and nothing but more salamanders, blazing, n a bunch of others but nooo damn jade!! It’s literally been over a month with the same combo!! Imma give up soon!!

Don’t get too frustrated, it’s all down to dumb luck. You could get a stroke of luck like me and get it on your first try, or you could get it after tons of tries. Also, I don’t mean to be rubbing it in your face, please dont take this the wrong way. Anyway this was my 3rd Epic dragon, and my first gemstone dragon.
Also please add me, gem for gem. I’ve got 3 slots open, and I’ll get a gifting tree later, but none of my friends even play anymore, so now Im looking for people who actually do gem for gem, rather than, “you send me a bajillion gems and ill stop playing”.

FINALLY I’ve tracked down this comment! I had to go looking for it! People, STOP SENDING ME REQUESTS, my slots are FULL and, in fact, overflowing by one! I accidentally accepted a request at full, and I didn’t know how to unfriend anyone. So I left it with 4 people on my list (I don’t have a gem tree) and people are still sending in MULTIPLE REQUESTS DAILY!

It really is down to dumb luck, I got it on the first try with plasma and salamander.

Wow! This works! Bought a plasma dragon with 40 of my 50 gems and bred with my salamander and BOOM, 30 hours 26 minutes, first try! That’s lucky, and its my first gem dragon!
After 11 tries, I just got 31 hours in the breeding cave. I’m thinking it has to be the jade with that time. This is a hard dragon to get.
I have been breeding this since it came out in both upgraded breeding places. Day in and day out and I still can’t breed this damn thing. Wtf dragonvale devs
