Siri’s voice gets a face
And it belongs to voice actor Susan Bennett, who CNN claims is the voice behind Apple’s personal iPhone assistant.
Bennett claims she had no idea that Apple had used her voice for the now famous iPhone assistant until a friend heard Siri and recognized her. All the dialogue used in Siri was recorded over 8 years ago over the course of a month according to Miss Bennett, likely before Apple even thought of buying the technology. Bennett’s voice also appears on numerous GPS systems in addition to Siri.
Given how many national commercials Bennett’s Siri has appeared in (both for Apple AND its competitors) one has to wonder how much money she’s been missing out on. Maybe Siri knows.
She should be “Mac Chick of the Moment”!
