Chrysler to support iPods in its entire 2006 lineup of vehicles

For any who would doubt the iPod’s influence on society…
According to a recent report out of the North American Auto Show, DaimlerChrysler will be offering Apple’s iPod Integration kits as an available option on its ENTIRE 2006 lineup of vehicles. The $175 option (plus installation) will be available in all new Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles starting this spring. This breaks down to about 3 million cars that may have iPod integration this year.
While other car makers offer iPod support, this is the first time a US automaker has made iPod integration available via its dealers. This announcement would mean about 40% of all 2006 vehicles sold will potentially have native iPod integration.
