Kolcraft iBabyâ„¢ Reclining Umbrella Stroller

Posted by Helper Monkey

For those new moms and dads who want their babies to be able to listen to The Wiggles no matter wear they are, behold the iBaby™ unbrella stroller. Available from Sears online for $49.99 with free shipping (after rebate), the stroller boasts the usual array of stroller necessities, such as a cup holder, a rear storage bag, and shock absorbing front swivel wheels. However, the iBaby™ takes the strolling-through-the-mall experience one step further and includes “an iPod® adapter and speakers to both entertain and drown out the cries of the little darlings, so mom and dad can get back to shopping.

Available only in pink at the moment, the iBabyâ„¢ may be the next best thing for those disappointed Apple did not release the rumored pink “Madonna Edition” iPod.

As for the iPod connector, the stroller boast an iPod Dok (note the lack of a “c here). What it really is is a slightly square-ish, glorified cup holder, with a regular mini stereo jack for connecting to the stroller’s built-in speakers. The iBaby™ claims to be able to support both regular and mini iPods (no word yet on the nano).

If those speakers are even half-way decent, that is actually a pretty good price.
Maybe I’ll get one of those and sit it on my desk to listen to my iPod at work.

  2. Brenda says:

Any word yet on it working with the Nano?

  3. Billy B. says:

I think it works fine, it just hooks to the headphone jack, so it will work with any device with audio out, even a walkman.
doesn’t have to be an ipod.

  4. Brenda says:

Thanks for the info. My daughter ordered the stroller and was planning on getting a nano this weekend but she wasn’t sure if it would work.

  5. Michelle says:

A friend of mine just purchased this, and her nano doesn’t fit.

  6. Billy B. says:

oh, well maybe it doesn’t have a snug fit, but as far as connecting to the stroller’s “sound system” all iPod would work the same, froma shuffle to the video iPod.
    audio out jack.

but yeah, the holder might be too big for a smaller ipod to not flop around.
maybe need to invest in some velcro or something to secure it.

  7. Brenda says:

Okay, now I’ve got to wait on clarification from Michelle…. does the Nano not work at all or does in just not fit in the dock correctly?
    Thanks,
    Brenda

  8. Rocio says:

when will they have boy colors???

  9. kylie says:

so does this stroller work with the shuffle? i mean i know it wont fit in the dock right but will the hook up work? need to know quick.. leaving the country this thursday and need to know if this is the stroller i should get! thanks,
    kylie

  10. Susan B. Anthony says:

99% sure the stroller is just a pair of speakers with a stereo mini plug, so anything will work, a portable CD player, an iPod, a nano, a shuffle… anything that you would normally connect a set of headphones to.

there is nothing iPod-specific about the stroller.
