Apple updates MacBook Pro line to Core 2 Duo processors

As rumored, Apple today updated their MacBook Pro line with the Intel’s Core 2 Duo chip. The new 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pros now come in at speeds of up to 2.33GHz, and sport a new dual-layer SuperDrive, a FireWire 800 port (missing in the previous 15-inch model), and more RAM than their predecessors. Apple claims the new models are up to 39% faster than the previous MacBook Pros.
The 15-inch models list a shipping time of 2-4 business days, the 17-inch is listed at 7-10 business days.
