Former Vice President Al Gore asked to investigate Apple stock option scandal

According to the Guardian, former Vice President Al Gore (who sits on Apple’s board as a non-executive director) has been tapped by the company to be on the special committee investigating Apple’s back-dating of stock options to certain key employees between 1997 and 2002.

“With Mr. Gore are former General Motors director Jerome York and Google boss Eric Schmidt, both of whom face possible conflicts of interest.�
