Vista can now play nice with the iPod

Posted by iGor

ars technica reports that Microsoft has finally published a fix for the whole “iPod doesn’t work on Windows Vista” debacle. Yes, just HALF A YEAR LATER those hard working boys and girls up in Redmond have managed to fix this bug that apparently corrupted iPods when ejected via Windows’ “Safely remove (and corrupt) hardware” feature.

Nick White of the Windows Vista Team Blog says his team has been working closely with Apple to “ensure a great experience in using Windows Vista with iTunes and the iPod”.

Now, maybe it’s just us, but 6 months BEFORE Vista launched might have been a better time to work closely with Apple on this instead of 6 months AFTER Vista launched.

Don’t ya think it’s more Apple’s problem and less Microsoft’s that the iPod doesn’t work? Surely they are the ones that should have noticed the problem… I doubt Microsoft has time to extensively test every device with Windows… it’s down to the manufacturer to do so.

Well, it’s not like the iPod is some obscure device… I think Microsoft could have run a test or two (unless Apple products are not allowed inside the walls of their compound.
