Geek up your iPhone with the D&D Roller

The iPhone has enjoyed a 6 month stay at the top of many people’s short list of must-have gadgets. Now, two weeks after its launch, and with some of the most positive press ever seen in a V1 device, it would be fair to say that the iPhone is now one of the most popular gadgets around.
In fact, you could even go so far as to say, the iPhone has maximum Hit Points in charisma.
Did I lose you? I hope so.
If not, you may be happy to know that Yoav Yerushalmi has written the first (that we know of) Dungeons and Dragons dice roller app for your iPhone. D&D Roller (link best viewed on an iPhone and with thick black rimmed glasses with tape holding them together) allows you to select from a slew of multi-sided die and presumably slay Orks and Storm Giants, all from the comfort of your (formerly cool) iPhone.
Now, I was SURE that a D&D dice roller was going to be that mysterious 12th app we discovered a couple months back, but no, it turned out to be YouTube. Well, I’m glad to see Yoav picked up the ball that Apple dropped. Finally, now maybe Apple will sell some of these things!
Mmmmm… It should be “Orcs” not “Orks”.
As about six million geeks will doubtless leap to point out, “hit points in charisma” makes no sense. You might as well say it has 500MHz of RAM.
Robert, primogeek,
I stand duly corrected, and I have never been happier to be wrong.
Thanks!
