Apple fixes iPod touch screen issue – you may now resume spending
According to users on the MacRumors forums, the “negative” screen issue that plagued early models of Apple’s new iPod touch seems to have been fixed, starting with “Week 38” models. To tell if your iPod touch is one of the good ones, simply check the serial number on the back. If yours contains “9C738”, you’re golden. A “36” or “37”, however, and odds are you’ll want to bring it back for an exchange.

Apple has also allegedly changed the cover art on the box, perhaps to give retailers an easier way to spot the good eggs from the bad. (Or, good Apples, I suppose). Newer iPod touches have an image of singer Bailey Rae on the touch’s screen. [UPDATE:] Faithful Macenstein reader Robert alerts us that he got a bad iPod touch with the updated box art, so stick to the serial number for identification purposes.
I just checked the Apple store and my Touch is now prepared for shipment. Let’s hope they aren’t shipping older units!
My iPod Touch is bad with the picture of Bailey Rae on the box, so you are better to judge by the number 9C738.
I have a week 37 and I don’t have a single issue with my display. Good luck for me I guess.
I bought 3 iPod touch week 37 in Best Buy and all they work perfect
