6 degrees of Steve Jobs: Round 1 – Bill Cosby
Today being a slow news day, we thought we’d introduce a new feature here and see how it plays out. Many of you are familiar with the party game “6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon” (well, those of you who have been to really lame parties are, anyway).
The point of the game is to try to link Kevin Bacon to another star in 6 steps or less, using their filmographies. We’d like to try something similar with Steve Jobs. Of course, since Steve isn’t an actor, the links may have to be a bit more tenuous and work related.
So, for instance, to link Steve Jobs to Kevin Bacon, you could go:
1) Steve Jobs founded Apple with Steve Wozniak
2) Steve Wozniak is (shudder) dating Kathy Griffin
3) Kathy Griffin was in the film Four Rooms with Marisa Tomei
4) Marisa Tomei was in the film Loverboy with Kevin Bacon.
There you go, four steps. Not bad. At least something good will come out of Woz’s relationship with Griffin (it will make this game a whole lot easier). Of course, the Pixar route is also a possibility, but we’ll give extra points to those who can do it without using Pixar or Griffin.
Round 1
The first name I am going to throw out there is Bill Cosby. Can you link Steve Jobs to Bill Cosby in 6 steps or less? Fewest Steps wins. Good luck!
Since SJ is now on the board at Disney, I think that really opens up the connections even more directly than Pixar does.
Did Disney produce “Ghost Dad”?
🙂
Steve Jobs was the Executive Producer of Toy Story
Toy Story starred Tom Hanks
Tom Hanks starred in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon
Only 3 degrees…
1) Steve Jobs founded Apple with Steve Wozniak
2) Steve Wozniak is (shudder) dating Kathy Griffin
3) Kathy Griffin was in the film Four Rooms with Marisa Tomei
4) Marisa Tomei was in the film Loverboy with Matt Dillon
5) Matt Dillon was in the film Malcom X with Bill Cosby
Wow, nice emilcar, that was fast!
Can anyone do it in less than 5?

3) Letterman has had Bill Cosby as a guest.
Sorry, Kevin and y3rt,
I think using talk show appearances such as Letterman and Rosie is cheating. Probably they have all been interviewed on CNN or some such show. Let’s try to keep the links more or less collaborative or humorously obscure.

1. Jobs celebrated is 30th Birthday having Ella Fitzgerald singing for him
2. In 1964 Sammy Davis Jr & Ella Fitzgerald were singing ad the Ed Sullivan Show
3. Sammy Davis Jr. played with Bill Cosby on a show called ‘Two Friends’ in 1983
If we consider acceptable the fact that Jobs ( 2/24/1955) and Sammy Davis Jr. (12/8/1925) birth-dates are a numeric match (27), then we could even reduce it to 2 degrees…
Steve Jobs was in “Nerds 2.0.1: A Brief History of the Internet” with Bill Gates
Bill Gates was in “Frasier” (1993) {The Two Hundredth (#9.8)} with Kelsey Grammer
Kelsey Grammer was in NBC 75th Anniversary Special (2002) (TV) with Bill Cosby
Steve was a pirate and a fruitarian too..
1) Steve Jobs was played by Noah Wylie in “Pirates of Silicon Valley” and at Macworld NY 1999
2) Noah Wylie and Elliot Gould were in an episode of “Friends”
3) Elliot Gould and Bill Cosby were in “The Devil and Max Devlin”
1. Steve Jobs produced Toy Story which starred Tom Hanks.
2. Tom Hanks is related to Nancy Hanks, Abraham Lincolns Mother.
3. Nancy Hanks is also related is related to Camille O. Cosby, born Camille O. Hanks, who is married to Bill Cosby…
I got you all beat…
I think Steve has had Jello at least once in his life. (Who hasn’t?)
Bill does Jello commercials.
Done.
