iPhone mentioned all over Apple’s Canadian website – sloppy coding or impending launch?
“Canadians may have universal healthcare, but WE have the iPhone!”
This has long been the rallying cry of many an American as we lay dying from a tumor caused by excessive cell phone use. It’s a trade-off all Americans gladly accept, yet it looks like that may be about to change. No, we’re not getting universal healthcare – it looks like the iPhone may finally be coming to Canada!
Our good friend EDIT-XTREEM has noted on his blog that Apple’s Canadian site is still displaying ads for iPhone workshops at all of its Canadian stores. Appletell first noticed this a month ago, and while at the time we chocked it up to lazy cut and paste web work on the part of Apple’s web team, now we’re starting to wonder. Given that Apple has allegedly threatened its Australian “Premium Resellers” with losing their accreditation if they speak to customers about the iPhone (which is not yet officially available in Australia) it seems odd Apple would be holding workshops for the device, which is still unavailable in Canada.
So, is the iPhone finally coming to Canada, or is Apple just enjoying taunting the Canadians? Let’s hope Apple’s motives for these workshops is noble. After all, this type of cruel technological taunting is the reason we Americans have agreed not to pilot our hover cars across the border – it’s just mean.
[UPDATE:] Looks like Apple’s updated their site and removed the iPhone lines. Oh well. Looks like the iPhone saw its shadow and it could be 6 (or more) weeks of iPhoneless winter for our friends up North.
Actually, the ‘hover’ car, known as the VZ-9A AVRO Car was invented and developed in Canada.

Yes, fair enough, but we Americans are the ones who were able to increase its gpm (gallons per mile) drastically. What, we were supposed to increase its miles per gallon? Ooops…
