Well, here we are at the start of another week, which means the rumor community is once again ready to predict new MacBook Pros will be released tomorrow (that makes the 7th time in as many weeks, for those of you counting). Actually, this week there is a slightly better than average chance it might actually happen, as MacRumors is reporting that shipments of TimeCapsules AND “other” Apple products are on their way to stores for midweek delivery.

Those of you who are tired of being strung along by the “MBP-rumor train” and are wary of getting your hopes up for fear of having them once again crushed come morning need not fear. MacRumors has sighted “sources” as the source of this leak, and that’s good enough for us! But, if you’re looking for further proof, apparently Best Buy is showing new model numbers on MacBook Pros as well (this “thunder stealing” is likely why Apple hates partnering with any retail chain).

Unfortunately, if tomorrow is indeed the big day, and the legitimate press has not received any invites to a “special event” of any kind, odds are the MacBook won’t be undergoing a major design update. Sure, it will likely have a multi-touch keypad, and maybe a LED screen in the 17′ model, but we’re guessing it will look more or less identical to the current models (not that they aren’t sexy, but it’s been about 20 years now since the last chassis overhaul…).

Well, hey, it’s what’s inside that counts, right? And hopefully that will be a 3 GHz Penryn processor. 🙂
