Freeverse “calling dibs” on certain iPhone games?
This kind of struck me as weird. With the official iPhone SDK announcement just hours away, Freeverse has made a pre-announcement, outlining some of the games it hopes to bring to the iPhone when the SDK is officially launched.
While we await the official SDK from Apple, here are the titles that we’re thinking about:
Flick Sportsâ„¢
Using the iPhone’s unique flick/pinch feature, we’re working on Golf, Bowling, Soccer, and Baseball (to start). Fun, colorful and quick, these will be ideal games for a modern mobile platform.Flick Sports: Moto Racing
Ah, the wind in your hair, the bugs in your teeth and the open road stretching out in front of you! Using the iPhone’s cool accelerometer, (you know, that doohickey that knows when your iPhone is sideways or not), you can steer your motorcycle to victory in this wild racing game. Awesome characters and a touch of humor, its a Freeverse game after all, will add to the fun.
Titles you’re “thinking about”? Is this a warning to other developers to steer clear of these titles? From the above graphic, it looks like Freeverse is a bit further along than just thinking about these titles, but again, why pre-announce this? Anyone with a Wii knows games that use the iPhone’s tilt sensors are no-brainers, so odds are Freeverse can’t hope to lock up that idea. Why not wait and see what Apple says today? Just my 2 cents.
