OK, now this is just getting embarrassing
Remember a couple weeks ago when I accidentally washed and dried my iPhone headphones?
Miraculously, despite being somewhat crinkly, they appeared to work just fine. Well, for about a week anyway. After a week or so the left earbud began emitting a horrible static sound about 80% of the time, so it was off to the Apple store for another $20 pair of earbuds.
Well, wouldn’t you know it, lightning has struck twice, and my brand new set of earbuds have followed in the in the thrill-seeking footsteps of their predecessors – taking the death-defying trip into the washer/dryer. Unfortunately, this set did not have the luck of the last pair, and are somewhat more horribly disfigured.
Probably the closest thing we humans can equate to the experience would be to take a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel, or rather, being FORCED into a barrel and thrown over Niagara Falls, as I doubt my earbuds were looking for a thrill.
Well, once again, despite the exposed wires and such, this pair also seems to still work just fine, but being a fairly shallow person, I think a trip to the Apple Store is once again in my immediate future. I don’t know what my problem is here – I have never washed any iPod earbuds, and I tend to keep all my gear immaculate. I think in order to feel better about myself, this time I will have to blame the Bride of Macenstein for this, as I had mentioned to her that my earbuds were missing and to keep an eye out for them.
Women! Am I right fellas?!
🙂
Nope! She isn’t the problem… You’re the problem… lol
You are missing it in your jeans’ pockets and you’re putting it to do laundry!
Uhn… Ok, ok… You both are the problem… 😛
One forget to took the earphones off the pocket and the other forget to look in the pocket to see if something is therer before fo the laundry. Hehe
Shame on you!
Try to not forget it in any place anymore! 🙂
Poor earphones!! lol
See ya! 🙂
I wouldn’t blame it on the Bride of Macenstein! She’s awesome!
Looks like a cats tapeworm:

If that’s what you’re washer/dryer is doing to those earphones what’s it doing to your clothes?
I think you’re using hot water in the wash and permanent press cycle in your dryer. Modern garments don’t need HOT WATER when using the new Ultra detergents and nothing should ever be cooked in the dryer.
Wonder why you’re clothes are lasting as long as your fathers? You’re overcooking them in the laundry!
Dude, you better check your pants before washing them.
Man, don’t blame the bride !!, that’s a BIG error maybe the next thing in the dryer will be you !
Really dumb!
Man you can’t blame the Lady of the house.
Get up off your own arse and wash your own clothes.
Dude, so uncool. SOOOO Uncool.
Get a set of Sennheisers instead (MX-4 series or better). They sound as good or better, and cost less. That’ll at least save you a few bucks next time you do the wash.
Where do you get genuine Apple for 20 bucks? Both my local Apple Store and Target get $30 a set. You might save a buck if they have them at Wal-Mart, but the risk of getting cheap counterfeits is too high for me.
I washed a usb flash drive and dried it for that matter, and it worked and still had the files in tact and they all opened fine, there were Quark Docs, Illustrator files and photos. haha, it was a Lexmark, so I emailed them the story and they asked if they could use it as a testimonial, I said sure. This might be common knowledge as there are no moving parts, but this was when the very fist ones came out so I was amazed nonetheless. I thought at least the dryer’s heat would warp something or possibly melt it, but nope.
I think you are too hard on your gadgets, iPhone crapping out all the time, washing headphones etc. dude….wtf? 😉
