iPhone’s dont kill people. Doogie Howser with an iPhone kills people

Say it ain’t so! The iPhone used for evil?!? Yup. Faithful Macenstein reader Scott let us know that the iPhone makes its debut as an instrument of evil wielded by none other than Neil Patrick Harris, who stars in Joss Whedon’s new mini-musical thingy, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

Above: Dr. Horrible has created a pretty sweet iPhone app for remotely controlling vans with which to wreck mayhem. It’s not yet available in the App store yet though, I checked. 🙁

Whedon allegedly penned the script for Dr. Horrible while trying to pass the time during the writer’s strike (um, writing during a writer’s strike to pass the time?), and it has a nice “weird Whedon Sci-fi” vibe to it. Just the right mix of cheesiness, low budget effects, and campy acting. Harris plays the evil scientist Dr. Horrible, who plans to take over the world, despite the best efforts of that no-good do-gooder Captain Hammer. For a musical comedy, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog actually has more comedy than singing, which is a good thing IMHO. Something the musical episode of Xena: Warrior Princess should have kept in mind.

You can pay to download Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog on iTunes, or just watch it for free here.

No, no no no no. You have got it all wrong! Sure, the iPhone steals/drives the van, but you conveniently failed to mention is that the iPhone also STOPS the van inches away from hitting Captain Hammer (standing where Penny would have been if he hadn’t pushed her into garbage).

“not yet available in the App store yet though”
It won’t be, its running in Mobile Safari – its a Web App. 🙂

Wait, you actually watched Xena (worse, there was a musical episode and you watched that too)? You have lost all credibility with me.

I once watched the musical episode of Xena in Italy. For some reason, they didn’t dub over the singing…

  4. Doogie Howser can bite me. Dr. Smith is the true evil genius who will eventually take over the world.
