Video: Phil Schiller’s Keynote was lip-smacking good!

OK, am I crazy, or did anyone else watching the Macworld ’09 Phil-note find it distracting that Phil’s tongue appeared to be “tasting” the air, like a snake hunting a mouse?

Above: So, did Phil Schiller eat a peanut butter sandwich before Macworld or what?

And I didn’t even put them all in. Oddly, I find that watching this video has somewhat the same effect as watching someone yawn – I actually feel the need to lick my lips.

You know, snakes smell with their tongues…

    Just sayin.

  3. Scratic says:

I’m sitting here eating animal crackers and doing the same thing. He must have eaten animal cracker before the keynote. That’s the only explanation, end of discussion.

No, but only because I haven’t watched the keynote yet.

Phil though his victory over Steve Jobs was so complete he could taste it, and evidently he liked the taste.

    A lot.

Snake or Jedi trick? I’m confused now.

Anyway, on the other hand a good roundup of the keynote. ; )

Maybe he had a small hair stuck in his mouth and he was trying to get it out. It might be part of his job responsibilities at Apple to perform activities that could result in small hairs being in ones mouth. He is just trying to keep his job, cut the guy some slack.

this is the best post about this keynote

  13. Lars Beduhn says:

in fact Phil was just downloading the “It’s PBJ Time” App to his iPhone… which made him lick his lips all the time !!!

  14. Artemis Warford says:

Cut the guy some slack. I’m sure he was under a lot of pressure. He has to prove himself capable of being just as awesome as Steve Jobs. I don’t know about everyone else, but I think he did a damn fine job and in fact, several times I forgot it wasn’t Steve Jobs giving the presentation. He just needs a black turtle neck.

I have stupid habbits I give when I’m presenting under pressure too. I’m sure we all do. Steve Jobs drinks so much water… I find that a lot more annoying than Phil’s licking seeing as I didn’t even notice it until you pointed it out.

    Artemis >>>>>> +1
Didn’t even notice either until I read the article.
Maybe he was trying to feel what was left “in the air” from the previous keynote…apple people are often nostalgic people after all…

  16. Matt says:

I hadn’t noticed either. Funny but I’m sure it was from lack of drinking water during a long presentation. Anyone who has given long presentations will know what it is like.
