iTunes 8.1 finally supports 3 finger swipes

I’m not sure how I missed this as I am a big 3-finger fan, but apparently the iTunes 8.1 update finally added (some) support for 3-finger track pad swipes. I guess it falls under the “You will enjoy noticeable improvements when working with large libraries, browsing the iTunes Store, preparing to sync with iPod or iPhone, and optimizing photos for syncing.” part of the iTunes 8.1 update.

Unfortunately, it only works for navigation, at the moment. Trying to scroll left and right through the center content on the main iTunes page (such as New and Noteworthy) doe not work.

Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader (and 3-finger gesture loving) Steve for the tip.

I resisted this for as long as I could…

    “I am a big 3-finger fan.”

    That’s what she said.

    Sorry. Had to be done.

  2. Great additional functionality.

hmm, isn’t this Safari embedded into iTunes? Not impressed Apple, going back and forth between albums would be nice for example.

Oh and why make me confused by making the iphone drag to pan (like Acrobat reader) but with the MBpro’s trackpad it’s reverse. Come one Apple get your teams together!
