Costco selling Dell running OSX?
Faithful Macenstein reader Ian writes:
“Why is it that Costco can’t even put Vista screen desktop on a PC desktop? Nothing quite like promoting a sale of a PC with a Mac screen desktop since you know that’s what the cheap PC users really want.”
Well, at least they hid the dock…

Well, it seems everywhere does it. I’ve seen it on a number of website and even storage catalogues.
Because… its just a wallpaper that has been around for quite awhile? I was expecting to see the menu bar, or icons to make it look like OSX – but this is just a wallpaper.
I agree. It’s just a wallpaper. There’s nothing on that screen that blatantly screams “OSX.”
Well, it IS the first wallpaper in Appe’s Default set…

The designer working on that Dell product shot was probably using a Mac. He was told to throw in a desktop image, so what did he do? He took one from his own system, it’s just a jpg. It might have even been his (or her) way of subtly saying: “don’t buy this piece of sh*t when what you really want is a Mac!”
ummm is this even slightly humorous, when its clearly just wallpaper
This type of thing happens all the time. I was watching a TV ad for Finally Fast, and it showed a Macbook user frustrated with the Blue Screen of Death. Last time I checked, the BSOD didn’t exist on a Mac. 🙂
My samsung HD tv’s box had the display displaying the mac desktop wallpaper as well
Must be a slow news day…..
It’s the PC’s way of crying out for help. They are tired of the viruses, bugs, patches, and crashes. They want to be Macs. Hear their call for help.
heh whatever. ive seen stupid sh** like this everywhere. those are pretty good specs for that price tho btw haha
At the very least it has to be a copyright violation.
@Jason – That ad annoys the crap out of me. In part because I think they did it to dupe some stupid Mac owners with the (obvious) iBook, and also because they do a crappy job of superimposing the BSoD.
