The Gilligan’s Island iPad stand
Now that Apple has announced it has sold over 2 million iPads in just two months, it’s pretty obvious that the planet’s resources will soon be depleted by 3rd party iPad accessory makers looking to make a quick buck. What the world needs now is a renewable source of iPad accessories.

Well, faithful Macenstein reader Dejan sent of pics of his rather unique iPad stand he made from Bamboo Chopsticks.

As we all know, bamboo is a very fast-growing, strong, and easy to replace source of woody goodness. Plus I imagine it can be easily transformed into a teepee for Barbie dolls. How many iPad stands can claim that?

[UPDATE: Faithful Macenstein reader Billy Boyd Cope was inspired to try it out. 20 minutes later, you can see the results]

I am incredibly tempted to make this!
I’m impressed.

Done and done
That’s just awesome.
Now we need a Mac Chick to wear ONLY this contraption!!!
I need an iPad stand, and it’s not easy shopping for one. Now I may just go to the store and buy a buttload of chopsticks. Even I could build this awesome thing.
The stand (s) aren’t the same. Notice pic with iPad in Landscape mode and there is one chopstick on front. In portrait and w/o an iPad that propping stick isn”t there. What gives???
Can this be scaled down to iPhone size?
possibly with match sticks?
No way. The Gilligan’s Island version would be made from coconuts.
Actually, as I think of it, the iPad would be made from coconuts.
