Australian Cinema Display apparently running at a higher resolution than the rest of the world’s

Looks like Apple’s web guys down under wish their Cinema Displays had an extra inch or so of screen real estate. (Link to the US Page, and Australia).

It’s hard to argue their point. Look how big a difference that borderless screen makes in iPhoto.

Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Mike for the link!

Wow, fire the web graphics guy in Australia. Look at that faux reflection mismatch between the top bezel and the LCD. There are all kinds of bad going on here.

Oh, I can just hear it now……That’s not a screen….now this is a screen

If you guys converted to the metric system you could have bigger screens too!

Why would they have to change the graphics at all for the Australian site?

  5. Oops says:

That would be a LOWER resolution for the Aussie screen. The images are bigger on the screen, not smaller. Thus it’s running a LOWER resolution. Now the borderless display area is a different matter altogether. Somebody needs to fire the art department.

If you click view image, you can see that they are actually two separate images that are just not lined up right. One image is the Display with a blank screen, and the other is just the screen. They probably did this so they could change what was featured on the display. Both sites are done like this, but the Australian site is just not lined up right.
