DragonVale: How to breed a Pearl Dragon
[EDIT: Looks like the “rare” Pearl Dragon egg seen below is actually the newly updated Pearl Dragon egg, so the original egg might actually turn out to be the “rare” one you can no longer get. Not sure why BackFlip Studios changed it midway through, but it looks like the Pearl Egg with the Pearl in it is the new egg]
PEARL DRAGON:
INCUBATION TIME: 30 Hours
BUY-IT Price: 1,475 GEMS
HOW TO BREED: Snow and Seaweed (Seasonal – can only be bred in the Month of June)
Interesting Fact: The Pearl Dragon is the only dragon I have seen so far that has TWO different types of eggs (scroll down). The hatched Pearl Dragons appear identical, however, so I am not sure the reason behind the difference.

The Pearl Dragon egg apparently comes in TWO varieties (Egg 4 is the alternate egg). The dragons seem the same though.

everyone, it does work! But I tried a least 10 times before I got it but the way I got it was by using a different pare of snow and seaweed! Example: after you attempt to get pearl you might get a snow.. KEEP IT! Then get another seaweed (but again attempt for pearl with the original pair you were using) once you get a seaweed level them both up to 10 (or higher) then breed them! I got it on my first try of this and my pearl dragon is going to hatch in 9 hours! Mix and them up too!! You never know! (btw I did not get emerald but I’m not giving up hope! I got it in less than 4 tries! But it works and I got some other dragons that I didn’t have too
Worked for me too! Sorta,tried it first time with a newly bred and leveled snow/seaweed that didn’t work so I tried the new level 10 snow and my original seaweed and I’m pretty sure it worked breed time is a day and 3 hours!

I’ve tried Seaweed and Snow at LEAST twice a day since its release and havn’t gotten a Pearl but I know it’s by chance.. The combo yielded me a 2nd Rainbow dragon though so I can’t complain too much.. It’s frustrating but I think it happens so people will be forced to buy gems. You get more and more frustrated with the time restraints so you speed everything up with gems, eventually run out, and go buy them. 🙁 maybe not.. But just a thought. On that note: I need friends who can trade a gem on a daily basis. I have 5 on my tree that go to waste daily..

I have bred snow and seaweed more than 30x now and I have only gotten snow, and willow, and a couple other average type of dragons! I don’t want to give up, but I am getting a little flustered!

I have slits of friends I trade gems with but sometimes when I’m ready to gift gems some of my friends buttons will be inactive and I have to chose someone else. Anyone know why the buttons are I active?

Why it didnt work in my dragonvale????
I tryed snow and seaweed and seaweed and snow but nothing works i did it many times -.-

Worked like a charm! I now have 5 pearl dragons. The using of newly levelled dragons seems to be the best tactic. So, I used one pair for the first dragon, then with the snow and seaweed dragons that I ended up getting out of the pairings, I levelled up a new set and used them for the second, same thing for the third, etc.
VERY effective!!! And, far fewer gems than buying the dragons with gems 😀

I’m convinced you can’t get these dragons unless you use gems. I tried all of may breeding for nothing but the emerald dragon then spent money on gems the last 2 days and got three of them. I wouldn’t mind buying dragons but I’m not paying 80 dollars its insane and extortion. Hate it!!!
Yes i finally got a pearl dragon about to hatch in 9 hours.Dont know whether this helps but i breeded both snow and seaweed at around 12 at night and i did get an incubation time of 30 hours.For those who still cant get a pearl dragon dont give up your bound to get it sooner or later
FINALLY have it. A total of 60 hours to go.. 30 breeding.. 30 incubation.

this is impossible to breed. I spent $10 on gems and i cannot get it. I tried using different sets of snow and seaweed dragons but it still didnt work. 200 gems later i still didnt get it and im about to give up hope. Does anyone have any advice?!? I need help. It took me about 20 times to get this thing, however it’s worth it. At lv.10 it produces 1 gem per week. Yay, that’s two gems each week because I have a pearl and emerald dragon!!
Oh, also, after breeding my Pearl Dragon, the egg has a pinkish-whitish background but it also has a pearl on it.

I GOT IT!!!!!!!! Oh my freaking god I got it! IMPORTANT: It’s NOT a 30 hour breeding time, only incubation. I bred my dragons, snow and seaweed, and got a 25 hour breeding time. Was all disappointed and wallowing in self pity, but I checked the egg today and it’s a pearl!!! Someone previously mentioned getting all of their pearls by starting the breeding time between 11 and 12 at night (sorry I forgot who!). I think they’re on to something! I got the pearl by breeding at that time! It took three tries, but it happened. I had been trying for the whole month with no success, but just tried the different time and it worked! Thank you so much, whoever you were!

The reason I think the gem gifting thing wont work is because I think the gem gifting opportunity comes every 23 hours, and the gem gifting to a certain person take 24 hours.

All Gem dragon breeding combinations work in both the island and the cave, it’s just less likely to be successful in the cave. This is the only pair that can produce a pearl, and there are a lot of possible combinations that it can produce as well, so learn some bloody patience and stop accusing people of lying or not telling you everything when they’ve done their best to help everyone out .

There are not two varieties of pearl eggs. The pinkish white egg was changed to the multi colored egg with a pearl in the middle. I had a pearl egg displayed and noticed it randomly changed on June 12. Whether its significant or not I do not know.
For some reason, the breeding time for me was only 25 hours… Perhaps it has something to do with the egg design? My pearl egg was the second one… But then again, if Stephanie’s right, there are no more of the first kind… So perhaps the breeding time has shortened?

No no no… It is a 25h breeding time because you bred it in an upgraded cave/island. Upgrading either of the two breeding stations decreases 20% (correct me if I am wrong) of the original breeding time… I know it is kinda late, but…
But the incubation time for me was also 30 hours. Bug?

Took awhile for pearl. A cpl tries for solstice, and first try on butterfly, but got all 3today!! Woohoo!! Pearl came from the regular cave. Now just need a sun and moon.

Yes kate it is possible. The pearl egg on my island is actually bred in the normal breeding cave.
Snow and seaweed in that order make sure that theyre both atleast level 10 ^.^

That’s pretty lucky and I did too but it didn’t work on the island so it goes to show that some dragons have a better chance in the normal breeding cave. Add me on game center: TheNuclearWaffle. I’ll give gems daily.
