DragonVale: How to breed a Pearl Dragon
[EDIT: Looks like the “rare” Pearl Dragon egg seen below is actually the newly updated Pearl Dragon egg, so the original egg might actually turn out to be the “rare” one you can no longer get. Not sure why BackFlip Studios changed it midway through, but it looks like the Pearl Egg with the Pearl in it is the new egg]
PEARL DRAGON:
INCUBATION TIME: 30 Hours
BUY-IT Price: 1,475 GEMS
HOW TO BREED: Snow and Seaweed (Seasonal – can only be bred in the Month of June)
Interesting Fact: The Pearl Dragon is the only dragon I have seen so far that has TWO different types of eggs (scroll down). The hatched Pearl Dragons appear identical, however, so I am not sure the reason behind the difference.

The Pearl Dragon egg apparently comes in TWO varieties (Egg 4 is the alternate egg). The dragons seem the same though.

The stones are shining high I just bred mud and blazing got solstice then bred snow and seaweed and got my third pearl. Wooohooo
What stone if I may ask?

i noticed the stones ..they are the soltice stones so i bred the mud and blazing asap and got the solstice! the stones i think help your chances when they are shining the light
yeah they helped but i wonder if they helped with all rare dragons as i found it easy to breed my pearl but it might just be a coincidence.
Also got my solstice while stones were brightest
yep..its seem so ,because next I got another moon. Will it be 6 months before they shine
again?

I have tried to breed snow and seaweed like 6 Times! Why isnt it working? It is the month of june

I agree. I have epic breeding island, and it STILL didn’t work. I don’t know whats up, but my result was fog both times.

Yeah i will get pearl dragon tomorrow after try to breed snow(left) and seaweed(right) around 10 days.
I’ve true more than 15 time, still nothing. But I’ve hade two Rainbows during this time, and a lot of dragons that I have no use of 😉 Just keep on trying. Some get it on the first try, others on their 50th… It doesn’t seem fair, but what can you do :-/
Thanks i just breed a different seaweed dragon and it work it! maybe depends on the seaweed dragon.

I’ve been trying 2-3 times per day, this month, mostly in the breeding cave. And now, finally, when I had almost given up hope, I just got a incubation time of 30 hours. I really hope that it is the pearl dragon 🙂
I’ve been trying all month.. have 3-4 each Snow and Seaweed that I’ve mixed and tried in cave and island.. Still no luck. Probably at least 30 attempts, SO FRUSTRATING!

I’ve been trying to breed snow level 10 and seaweed level 10 for 21 times starting the first day of june and it keeps on saying that i hav to wait 8 hours with a different dragon and sometime 2 hours and sometime 14 hours but NEVER 30 Please help me!

Once you have 2 of a dragon, you can breed them and get more of that dragon at ANY time of the year, seasonal or not.

Hopeless! I m trying last 21days with seaweed+snow+seaweed,crystal+iceberg/seaweed/bluefire/fog/air/blazing/lichen.but I got sun, rainbow, solstice,emerald .how can I get moon,pearl&sandstorm.no way to get.
Moon is sonic and storm
Sandatorm is air + earth hybrid
(earth + air hybrid = dodo)
And im still workin on my own pearl lol

Tried three times with snow and seaweed……nothing yet.
Fustrating isn’t it! took me like 6 tries for the solstice and now times running out for the pearl even with using my gems to speed things up. And no luck for a panlog dragon either.

I believe level also helps with the process of gettin the dragon u want
Hello all I have a question, my breading cave will not let me bread a few of the dragons, any one know why?
some dragons aren’t compatible but you can use half element dragons to breed together.
Is there a different combo for the current,plasma,sandstorm,dodo, forge, quicksilver,blue fire and frost fire. Those are the ones that won’t let me. I pick the right side and they are blocked out on the left, is that normal?

You have to use one pure element (ice) and mix it with hybrids( fire) and thats how u get teo opposite elements in on dragon. The above combo if using right fire hybrid should yeild a blue fire dragon

I got my Pearl dragon on my first try. My dragons weren’t even level 10 dragons. I used Seaweed left and snow right.
What levels where they if u kno
Worked second try just put snow on left instead of right.
I have found if you are having trouble breeding rare dragons like pearl put seaweed and snow in if you don’t get 30 hours spend the gems to hurry them up and try again this has worked on all my rare dragons so far
That could be completely random you know but you are very lucky
My dragons levels when I breaded ten toghetger was both level 10 and I got a pearl
Got it after 10 days. Breeding cave.

Well it’s June 23rd, still trying for Pearl and still no luck. I have switched them from left to right then right to left. New ones, olds ones; one young, one regular; both young, both regular; one at lv 10, one a higher lv; between 11pm – 1am; times through out the day; used gems to speed up breaking time to select dragons again; and still no luck! All I gotten has been Willow and Fog. So I have ran out of ideas but yet I keep going hoping to get that final 30 hour time.
Just got the pearl after what seems like a thousand tries and gems to speed up the breeding.
Don’t give up yet anyone.
I got lucky and got the Leap year the minute before they took it off. It’s all in the luck. 😉

For all dragons incubation and breeding times r the same unless u have the epic breeding island, then anything bred there has a slightly smaller breeding time. As far as those dragons go, all of them but the pearl have a 48 hr breed/incubation time on them so ur looking at a ttl of 4 days. The pearl dragon has a 30 hr breed/incubation time on it.

Still no pearl but finally got solstice which is cool cus the solstice this year was on my bday, still want pearl, my birthstone, but cant wait for ruby next month, its cool that diamond will be the last gem dragon revealed too 🙂

Mac- great site, thanks. Your note a out the pearl being the only dragon with two egg “incarnations” is incomplete- at about the same time the pearl egg was overhauled, the firefly egg was also changed. It had been red with a lightening bolt, but the dragon was switched from fire/lightening to lightening/fire and the egg was concurrently switched to yellow with red flames. I had a firefly egg on display before the change and it is on a fire pedestal (though it switched coloration) and I have a more recent display egg that came on a lightening pedestal! The eggs are both the current yellow with red flame, but the old egg stayed on the fire pedestal. So this is another dragon egg that changed.
Yes, I saw that. I didn’t mean to say it was th eonly dragon to have an egg change, I thought it was the only dragon to have TWO different eggs. The Firefly egg change was to a long-existing dragon. It seemed odd to me that the Pearl would come out with an egg, and then change 2 weeks later. I could see going back 1 year later and updating something, but it seemed odd to change an egg design so quickly, so I thought perhaps they were going with two designs simultaneously. But it looks like they changed it for good.

Im finding it imPossible to get a pearl or a solstice dragon I’ve spent hundreds of gems and the past week co stanly breeding seaweed/snow, snow/seaweed, mud/blazing, blazing/mud, blazing/earth earth/blazing and have ran completely out of gems, time and patience I dunno what to do this is a really aggravating situation! Anyone help?
I know, I’m in a similar boat. I never got a solstice and still haven’t gotten a pearl but I’ve never sped up a breeding cause I only have limited gems that I get from the colliseum. I also only have the regular single cave. So frustrating

think i got it this time! after numerous, multiple and too many times to count! lvl 6 seaweed on the left, level 5 snow on the right, normal breedind cave: 30 hrs

I think today is the last day to breed for the pearl. I’m thankful to be getting my third…each time with snow/seaweed. No success getting the butterfly dragon though. Good luck to all.

I just got both of my epic/normal breeding cave pearl dragons at the same time. I put lvl 14 dragons to normal breeding cave then lvl 10 dragons to epic breeding cave. both lv 1 caves.
I tried Level 10 Snow Dragon that had been in the Fountain of Youth with a Level 10 Seaweed Dragon (full size – not made younger in the Fountain of Youth ) and got a Pearl Dragon with my first attempt with that combo.
