Kid pees on school MacBook cart – causes $36,000 in damages
Here’s a math problem for you: If you take the entire volume of urine found in the average 11-yar-old’s bladder and pour it over a school computer cart, how many MacBooks will it ruin? Answer? $36,000 worth, at least according to the Upper Allen Township Police department.
“An 11-year-old boy urinated on several MacBook computers on a cart in the Upper Allen Elementary School Wednesday, damaging them beyond repair, according to Upper Allen Twp. police.
The loss came to more than $36,000, police said.
Police charged the boy with institutional vandalism and criminal mischief and are turning him over to the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department.”
Now, in his defense, he was probably drunk…
I don’t know… I hate to appear insensitive to the other students in the school, but I think these school officials are throwing the MacBooks out with the proverbial urinal cake, so to speak. I mean, realistically, assuming that when this kid peed on the computer cart it was holding 36 MacBooks, give or take, and they were probably staked, lid-closed, in some sort of shelving system, could he REALLY have totaled ALL 36? Or are these spoiled kids these days unwilling to use a computer that smells like urine? Back in MY day we would have KILLED to have a urine soaked computer, and we would have been THANKFUL!

Urine exposure of any kind to electronic devices is considered a biohazard and Apple by policy will no longer service the machines. This may be how they came to such a staggering figure resulting from just one incident.
Even though urine is supposedly sterile. I’ll offer $100 for the lot. Let’s start the eBay bidding.
Yup, I came here thinking the exact same thing. I remember reading something saying that Apple Technicians didn’t work on computers that were in the homes of smokers, considering THAT a biohazard issue, I could only imagine that urine would send one of them into convulsions.
This piss me off.
Better to be pissed off than pissed on…
I’ll buy these pissed on MACS for a $200- $500 each.. aslong as they still funtion.. go easy on this kid.. kids do stupid things all the time!! I know I did at 11.
A parade should be held in his honor!
Have they ever heard of isotope alcohol?
Isopropyl alcohol…
Your biggest problem (ignoring the biohazard issues) is the salt in the urine would start corroding whatever it came in to contact with, probably bricking a bunch of them before they were attended to.
You know what? I’d do it too.
Pfft, I piss on Macs all the time. This is hardly news.
He just lived out one of my life goals!!! =]
Obviously a Microsoft fan.
PRICELESS!! I always wanted to pee on a cart full of macs! Then maybe roll it to the gun range and fill them full of holes, LOL!!! Give that kid an “A” !!!!!!!
Too bad the cart wasn’t plugged in at the time. Would have administered appropriate punishment.
Amazing how many people will support illegal, and irresponsible activity. I guess that’s why so many kids act this way.

What the hell is wrong with you people?
Dont tell me these teachers were not frothing at the mouth to take them home for them selves and this was a good excuse to do so. Something tells me the the loss here is not as big as told, I cannot see all 36 or so being destroyed if they were in a closed position. Anyway why waste so much money on MACs PC’s are cheaper on the tax payer dime.
good on him…. surprised no one else did it first.
they can claim it on insurance and then get proper computers not Fisher Price My First Computers.
I had a computer sit under a leaking swamp cooler for a couple of years (I wasn’t aware that it was leaking). Even covered in rust, it boots up and runs just fine to this day. Mind you, the battery is shot to hell, but what laptop manufactured in 1996/7 still has a working battery?
I don’t believe for a moment that these computers are all beyond repair (mine just needed to dry out), but I can see where the school is coming from. The dipshit kid needs some serious “reeducation,” regardless.
One question: what was this kid doing unsupervised around 36,000 dollars worth of computer equipment in the first place? I think I’d react pretty swiftly if I saw someone unzipping in front of my Mac.
If it were a 3-4 year old kid i’d say okay.. but 11 years old?.. Come on.. what type of issue does this kid have?.. Couldn’t he see the difference between a toilet and expensive equipment?…
Hope the parents teach him a ton of manners and stuff.. Just plain weird..
having 36 mac books must have been a privat school so what get his mum and dad to pay 36,000 dollars
is only like the same amant the pay for his school each mouth
