HOW TO: Stop your iPhone 7 / 7 Plus’s screen from vibrating when playing audio

I’m not going to go into how underwhelmed I’ve been with iOS 10 and the iPhone 7 Plus here, but let’s just say among the more annoying “features” of the latest round of Apple updates is the incredibly annoying vibration of the screen when playing music out of the iPhone’s speakers. You may recall one of the few selling points of the iPhone 7 and 7 plus is the enhanced “stereo” speakers on the device. Unfortunately, with great volume comes great vibration, and it just feels “ugly” in your hand, for lack of a better term. This is obviously something Apple should have caught and addressed in the development stages but… CRAP! Here I go.

Anyway, odds are you hate this as much as I do, and want it to stop.

Here’s how.

Go into SETTINGS> GENERAL> ACCESSIBILITY. Now Scroll down and slide that little balance slider all the way to the left. (It is the “new” speaker coming out of the earpiece (RIGHT SIDE) that is causing the vibration.)

iPhone 7 screen vibrate

There, Congratulations. You now have an iPhone 6S.
Of course, if you want to listen to music through headphones or bluetooth, you’ll need to re-center the slider or you’ll only hear the left side of the stereo mix.

(And Apple, PLEASE let me test your shit first. You’re messing up.)

Do you know how to make it so that when one receives a text it stops spamming you with text tone?
I literally got ONE text from a friend and then the tone went off again and again and again within 30 seconds
I literally pulled over on the side of the road because I really thought that this friend was
in some kind of dire trouble as they never text spam. They don’t call because they can’t hear well on the phone so I couldn’t go off on “well if they are in trouble they will call me.”

I open the message to find it was only ONE message from them, not eight or more.
It was upsetting, to say the least. I never pull off to the side of the road as I am always a “I will look when I have time”
kind of person but since I had an hour drive I wanted to make sure if their life was in dire trouble that I could at least say I can’t text back right now.
It wasn’t just this one contact as it’s been doing this to multiple friends.
It’s quite irritating because my phone will not stop until I look at the text. Someone at Apple is really dumb to put this false urgency on texts .

Sadly this is not a practical way to solve this problem, once you rotate your phone the upper speaker will take the higher advantage of producing the sound. I hope to see a disabling choice in the settings of the upper speaker in the next update.

This solution will stop working after changing phone orientation landscape. Hate this thing, my iPhone 6 didin’t have that problem.
