PowerBook takes a “Major League” hit
I’m the furthest thing you’ll find from a baseball fan, so the idea of being a photographer sent to cover all the “action” of a Pittsburgh Pirates game is scary enough, but check out the carnage that befalls this poor man’s PowerBook during an 8th inning foul ball. What an idiot, he didn’t even make a play on it. He should not be allowed to have such a cool job like the one he has.
All he did was just stare at the ball as it hit that laptop, what a moron.
Looks to me like he wanted to upgrade to the MBP so he slipped the dude a fiver to shank the ball left.
Look at the woman on the bottom left corner in the second last picture. I think that’s an iPhone in her hand. ha!
Did you hear in the video about lightening striking twice? Apparently a foul ball came close to hitting before! I think he deserves a Vista Home computer 🙂

What’s with the clip? That’s the single worst streaming clip I’ve ever run into. I know my PowerBook G4 is old, but this thing was a train wreck. The picture came up and never moved. I’ve had clips that didn’t exactly “stream” video, instead looked like a series of photos, but this wouldn’t change at all. When I moved the bar to a new time the picture would update, and then freeze again. But what really made it the worst was the audio, which just dropped out all the time, and when it didn’t drop it was herky-jerky like that audio I described.
Since I just watched a clip of Barney Frank that worked fine not 5 minutes ago, it’s gotta be something about this clip. Anybody have a notion?

He was looking at the ball all that time, he just had to reach out for it. I wouldn’t be much good catching it if came straight at me, but he just has to collect it. It’s coming straight down.
Imagine if he’d been bended over it typing and that ball hit him straight in the noggin. That would not have been good.
I could see myself catch a ball like that.

As I Pirates fan…I must once again hang my head low because I can’t make any sort of comeback from yet another jab at my home team. They DO suck. It’s true. 🙁

I can picture his boss returning his request for tech refresh stamped “DENIED”. The phone conversation probably started with, “remember that new MacBook Pro I asked for?”
That Mac was the only thing the Brewers hit in the pitiful series.
