Droid mascot gets his own iOS game – has a girlfriend?
You know, if there’s one thing I’m jealous of in the Android world it’s their super cute robot mascot. As successful as Apple has been by keeping all their advertising locked in a bland, white world for the last 20 years, their commercials are just not fun to watch. They lack personality. But that little green robot… he practically OOZES charisma, as do most robots, quite frankly. Well, luckily, iOS developer Toc has decided to bring Android’s little Droid to the iPhone. Behold Super Droid World, a 3d platformer for the iPhone featuring that adorable lime green Android robot. Not only that, but according to the game description, apparently the little dude has a girlfriend, who I am dying to see (although not enough to lay down $2.99).
I’ll go out on a limb and assume it isn’t licensed, so if you have any interest, maybe grab this one quick.
“Super Droid World is a 3D Action Game!!
Save his girlfriend with Jump and Attack actions!
Time attack and achievements of GameCenter are also available.
Minimize System Requirement: iOS 4.0 or above.”
It’s not such a great game! Like a poor man’s Mario 64. Super poor.
Who pulls this first? Apple or Lucasfilm, which owns the rights to the term “droid.”
