Review: The Dock Extender Cable from CableJive
There are many reasons you might want to use an extender cable to dock your iPhone or iPod – the most obvious of course being the Apple-supplied dock cable is too short for your needs. But for me a far more common issue is having an older accessory with a dock connection (speaker, car charger, stereo etc.) that I wish to to hook up my iPhone to, and it just doesn’t fit. That’s where the Dock Extender Cable comes to the rescue. Above: A thing of beauty. My 1st... Read More
Someone tell Namco you don’t HAVE to charge $9.99 for everything
With the dusting off off of the Arcade classic Pole Position, Namco now has 4 iPhone games available on the iTunes store, all 4 of which are listed at the “imaginary glass ceiling” price of $9.99 (so far the highest price the masses seem to accept for game pricing on iTunes). These are not 5 star games we are talking about here (some rate 1.5 stars) – these are decent ports of games which have made their money many times over, and regularly sell on compilation... Celebrity Mac Chick Sighting: Jenna Dewan
And the search continues for a man who owns a white iPhone (aside from my friend Jeff, who barely qualifies). Here we see Jenna Dewan, the lovely actress/dancer from Step Up and Tamara (yeah, I missed those too) taking a well deserved vacation along with her white iPhone 3G. But wait! Is that also a black iPhone, a trick of the light, or something else entirely? (yes, I am using that question as an excuse to run the pic where she is standing up). [via celebslam] Read More

Celebrity Mac Lip Chick Sighting: Shauna Sand
Odds are you remember former Playmate Shauna Sand from the hit 90’s TV show Renegade, starring her then husband, Lorenzo Lamas. Well, actually odds are you don’t, but if you did remember her, odds are it would be from there. Well, she may not have good taste in plastic surgeons, but she apparently knows a good cell phone when she sees one. [via celebslam] Read More

Pocket Mini Golf 2 coming to the iPhone
We don’t have all that much to go on yet aside from these screen grabs, but it looks like Clickgamer is looking to bring about an iPhone port of their popular Pocket Mini Golf 2 title to the iPhone. Based on the shots, it looks like a pretty dead-on port of the original which was quite popular on Pocket PCs and Smart Phones. No word on whether any of the expansion packs will be included or a price, but given that the game costs a somewhat steep $20 for all other mobile... Read More
“OMFG INSTALL AIR SHARING!” (free for the next 2 weeks)
“OMFG INSTALL AIR SHARING!”. Such are the words of faithful Macenstein reader Michael who couldn’t be more right. Air Sharing is an extremely slick and well thought-out application that enables the fabled “Disk Mode” on your iPhone, allowing you to copy files to and from the iPhone wirelessly. The best part is it’s free (for the next 2 weeks) and it works LIKE BUTTER. Not only can it act as a portable drive, but its built-in viewer allows... Read More
The REAL reason NBC shows made it back onto iTunes
Apparently that “mind control” dude from Heroes got drunk on iPint on his iPhone 3G and forced NBC to get his show back to the masses. Above: Greg Grunberg from Heroes knocks back a (virtual) cold one. Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Kensei for the tip! [image via daylife] Read More
