Review: Ballistic HC case for iPhone4

When it comes to (somewhat bulky) uncompromising protection, Ballistic’s HC case for iPhone4 is perhaps tied with Otterbox’s line of cases in the interweb’s collective mind – but I must say, I think I would give the edge to the Ballistic. In fact, I would give it a solid edge over the Otterbox case in general if it weren’t for one thing… Read on... Read More

Is it just me, or does this iPad sound really bored?

Check out this very cool demo for SiteRider XL (soon to be formerly reeadR Touch), which appears to be a very cool speech-driven web browser for the iPad. Is it just me, or does the female voice sound extremely bored/annoyed with having to carry out all the commands? Sort of reminds me of Dr. Katz’s secretary, attitude wise. (Anyone else remember Dr. Katz? Anyone?). I’m... Read More

Um… eeew…

I am of course referring to the dude with the red shirt in the background. How tacky! Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader John for the tip!  Read More

Yes, I’m 13

Above: That’s right, 1 bar, baby! If there’s anything I should have learned from the Phantom Menace trailer, it’s that it’s extremely dangerous to get too excited for a movie, especially a sci-fi one based on your childhood memories. But I can’t help it, I have TRON fever. And really, how could it suck? It has light cycles, and one of the hottest... Read More

Review: OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 4

Given that I have somehow gotten by for this long without a case of any kind for my iPhone 4, it might seem a bit odd that the first case I tried out is one of the most famously protective cases in iPhone history – Otterbox’s Defender case for iPhone. Yet here I am, finally placing my sleek, glass-backed iPhone into not just a case, but a veritable fortress. So, how does... Read More

Welcome to the App store, circa 1830

Seriously, WTF? Oh those Wacky Tribals! When will they learn? I actually feel a little conflicted as this guy’s obviously got some talent, although it remains to be seen if he can only draw offensive African caricatures or if he can attack other cultures as well.  Read More

Gamblers put even money on updated iPhone 4 tomorrow

According to the good folks over at Bookmaker.com, who specialize in providing off-beat gambling odds, there’s an even chance that we might see a retooled iPhone tomorrow, among other things. I’ll admit I am the worst gambler ever, having literally lost the shirt of my back at one point (a sweet Def Leppard Hysteria tour concert-only exclusive) but I would say the... Read More

Review: Fun in the Sun with the Eco Extreme All-Terrain MP3 Speaker

Ever since the app store first opened, I’ve pretty much become addicted to internet radio. In fact, it’s one of the main reasons I’ve chosen to keep my unlimited data plan for the iPhone – I pretty much have to have music everywhere, common courtesy and Wi-Fi be damned. And this summer one of my favorite places to listen to tunes is at the Jersey Shore, Snookie-watching.... Read More

Microsoft tells us why PCs are better than Macs

Microsoft has launched a new page comparing PCs to Macs, and guess who comes out on top? Let’s see if you can find six misleading statements hidden in Microsoft’s arguments below: (thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Billy for the tip!) Macs can take time to learn. The computer that’s easiest to use is typically the one you already know how to use. While some... Read More
