North Point Community Church’s iBand puts on iOS Christmas Concert

I don’t know what’s more impressive about this video – the skill, musicianship, and hours upon hours of practice that must have gone into this, or the fact that this church owns so many iPads, iPhones, HD cameras and high end editing equipment. Seriously, my church growing up had a candle. That was it. Maybe I would have stayed in the fold if my church had a bunch of Apple nerds in it… of course, back then they’d have to have been playing Jingle Bells... Read More

Apparently “Rated 4+” = full frontal nudity

I think it should be obvious at this point that I’m probably the furthest things from a prude, but I must say, slipping full frontal nudity into an app rated 4+ just seems a little odd to me. That’s right, everyone’s favorite Look and Find (including my kids) Time Geeks has a couple fairly adult finds for you (or your 4+ kid) to find, including, but not limited to Adam and Eve (and Adams’ fairly impressive penis) and men urinating in public. Again,... Read More

iPads, Camera, ACTION!

I’ve seen iPads used as teleprompters, and odds are once we get the iPad 2 we’ll see them used as (low budget) movie cameras. But right now, check out this extremely awesome and surprisingly effective lighting rig made entirely or iPads. iPad Photoshoot from Jesse Rosten on Vimeo. Review: iHome iB969 charging station

iHome has a long history of supplying innovative, well-designed, and horribly named accessories for Apple gear. The iB969 continues these traditions. What is it? Well, you wouldn’t know from the name, but the iB969 is a 4-in-1 charging station designed to charge pretty much any portable device out there, although it throws a definite nod to the iPod, iPad, and iPhone. The iB969 comes with two built-in dock connector wells designed to fit pretty much any iPhone or iPod... Read More

Comic artist Jim Lee draws on the wrong side of the iPad

“Some Green Lantern art I did on an iPad using an old app I call myFingers”. So reads a Twitter post from Comic legend Jim Lee. Jim is no stranger to the iPad – as you may recall, Jim not only sketched Wonder woman on his iPad while getting his hair cut, but also was asked to do a live sketch on a fan’s iPad instead of the traditional paper during a recent convention. However, this sketch of the Green Lantern is probably the first time Jim has drawn on the... Read More

Form ruins function, but who cares? THAT’s one cool iPad case!

I’m not sure you could find your apps in that mess, that but that case/wallpaper combo is still pretty damn awesome. via JT’s Locker  Read More

Is it just me, or does this iPad sound really bored?

Check out this very cool demo for SiteRider XL (soon to be formerly reeadR Touch), which appears to be a very cool speech-driven web browser for the iPad. Is it just me, or does the female voice sound extremely bored/annoyed with having to carry out all the commands? Sort of reminds me of Dr. Katz’s secretary, attitude wise. (Anyone else remember Dr. Katz? Anyone?). I’m not sure I want to feel like I’m asking an apathetic clerk from the Department of Motor... Read More

I wish I had ever been that excited about anything

Behold Han Ziwen, the first person to buy an iPad in China. Well, that’s not true, actually. Odds are over tens of thousands of people in China already had iPads for months via other (more nefarious) channels, but let’s not tell Han that. After all, he went through the trouble of making up a “I Buy iPad #1” T-Shirt and everything. Actually, it looks like he bought two iPads, so hopefully the guy behind him didn’t waste his money on a “I buy... Read More
