We’re giving away 25 iANGLE’s!

THANK YOU, WE HAVE OUR WINNERS. THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. Up for grabs today are 25 iANGLE’s from the good folks over at… iANGLE. That’s right. TWENTY-FIVE. That means each and every one of my 23 readers can win one, and I’d STILL have two to play with! So, what IS an iANGLE, you might ask? Well, quite frankly, it’s a double-threat. It’s a combination iPod touch/iPhone 2G/3G/3G S stand AND a handy, tangle-free place to store your earbuds,... Read More

Seriously, I just noticed this

Yeah, I don’t RTFM, so sue me. And if you don’t either, then maybe you didn’t notice you could do this in iOS 4 either. One of the things I was missing most in iOS 4 is that in the “old days” or iOS 3 is that you could double click the HOME button on the iPhone to bring up the iPod’s music players controller when inside another app. This was a nice time saver and a necessity before iOS4’s multi-tasking allowed you to pick up (more or less)... Read More

Darth Vader vs AppleCare

We all know Darth Vader invented the original iPod, so it’s no wonder that he’s an iPhone 4 owner as well. Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Jeff for the link! via tuaw  Read More

Poll: Who should be Apple’s new enemy?

Following Apple’s latest earnings report, CNN Money‘s David Goldman wrote a post comparing Apple’s Market Cap and quarterly earnings to that of Microsoft. A few months back Apple surpassed Microsoft in Market Cap for the first time, and with Microsoft about to report its own quarterly earnings tomorrow, most analysts are suspecting Apple will actually have surpassed its long time rival in quarterly revenue for the first time as well. But Goldman brings up a very... Read More

“Adding function to form”

While I appreciate the “Band Aid” metaphor Antenna Aid used, I think the “End Call” decal might be the best take on the Antennagate thing so far. via The Daily What via Gizmodo  Read More

HURRY! Get unlimited iPhone tethering for just 99¢!

If you missed out on Netshare, the first and only tethering app to make it to the iTunes store (before being pulled 24 hours later) now is your chance to snag Handy Light, a 99¢ tethering app that is currently masquerading as a “Flash Light” app. Appshopper has posted instructions on how to get it working, but since it is likely going to be just a matter of seconds before Apple pulls it, I would suggest you head over to iTunes and grab it first, THEN go see how... Read More

Reality distortion field remains strong with Steve Jobs after antennagate

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the Chinese just have better “dramatic reenactments” than we do. And for the record, I would have posted this even if I loved the iPhone 4. It’s just great. Thanks to faithful Macenstein reader Matt for the link!  Read More

RIM responds to Apple’s “But they’re doing it too!” campaign

RIM’s Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie issued an official response to Apple’s press conference yesterday. I won’t comment on it, for risk of further angering my fanboy readers, except to say, they’re completely right. “Apple’s attempt to draw RIM into Apple’s self-made debacle is unacceptable. Apple’s claims about RIM products appear to be deliberate attempts to distort the public’s understanding of an antenna design issue... Read More

10 things we learned from today’s iPhone event

Well, today’s iPhone event has come and gone, and I think we all learned a couple very important things. 1 – We learned Apple loves its users. 2 – We learned that “all” smart phones have signal reception issues depending on how you hold them. In fact, Apple made a point of showing us all a comparison of various phones dropping reception bars as you hold them. But one thing that was conspicuously absent was a comparison between the iPhone 3G S and... Read More
