Further evidence that Darth Vader invented the iPod
Extremely long-time readers may recall that I uncovered evidence that Darth Vader in fact invented the iPod. (above: the iPod was conceived a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away¦) Well, I uncovered further evidence while watching the season finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. As you can see, in the episode entitled “Hostage Crisis”, we can clearly see Anakin Skywalker (AKA Darth Vader lite) build an iPod nano out of spare parts. OK, maybe this theory is... Read More

Review: Audioengine W2 (AW2) Premium Wireless Adapter for iPod
I’ve been a fan of Audioengine‘s high end speakers ever since I checked out their A5’s a couple years back, followed by their equally impressive little brother the A2s, so when they put out a new audio accessory, I always take notice. I’ve also been a fan of their AW1 wireless adapters that let you stream your audio from your computer to your home stereo, and have found it to be more reliable than my home AirPort Express, which often craps out even with... Police force woman to give up her iPod as cab fare
After 20 swipes of 20-year-old Nataie Lenhart’s credit card resulted in 20 “declined” messages, cab driver Mohammed Islam called 911. The responding officers to the “crime” scene (JFK International Airport) then proceeded to come up with one of the more bizarre (if not illegal) solutions to the problem – They forced Lenhart to give the cab driver her $140 Red iPod nano as payment. The fare was only $49, but the officers insisted Natlie surrender... Read More

Santa Claus is coming to town… er, the Apple Store
Santa knows these days the kids don’t want wooden, elf-built toys, wagons and dolls – they want iPods, just like everyone else on the planet, and it looks like Santa and his friends will be hitting the Apple Store this holiday season to stock up. Above: The figures look quite similar to the Rankin/Bass-esque holiday “I’m a Mac” commercial of last year. Brooklyn-based company Lite Brite Neon has been tapped to construct some iPod-loving Santa... Read More
Behold iStik: The magnetic iPod nano bikini holder
Just as I still get nervous when my MacBook goes through the airport scanners, somehow the idea of putting powerful magnets next to my iPod still freaks me out, no matter how safe an electrical engineer assures me it is. Still, iStik’s magnetic cases for the nano appear to be the best thing to happen to bikini bottoms since the Coppertone dog. Currently the cases only support the nano, but cases are being rolled out soon for the iPhone and iPod touch. iStik claims they... Read More
Review: The Dock Extender Cable from CableJive
There are many reasons you might want to use an extender cable to dock your iPhone or iPod – the most obvious of course being the Apple-supplied dock cable is too short for your needs. But for me a far more common issue is having an older accessory with a dock connection (speaker, car charger, stereo etc.) that I wish to to hook up my iPhone to, and it just doesn’t fit. That’s where the Dock Extender Cable comes to the rescue. Above: A thing of beauty. My 1st... Read More
The Let’s Rock event : My thoughts… in pictures
Like most Apple fanboys with no self control, I was unable to wait for Apple’s keynote stream to hit the web, and instead I nearly wore out my “refresh” finger reading the Engadget and Gizmodo feeds. So, now that it is all done, and I have had 3 minutes to digest it all, how do I feel about the event? Well, let’s find out as we take a tour, via stolen borrowed pictures from Gizmodo‘s and Engadget‘s coverage of the Let’s Rock event. photo... Read More
OK, am I being fanboy…?
….or does this Wriggley’s Slim Packs gum commercial I just saw on the VMA’s just 15 minutes ago… look more than a little like this iPod nano commercial? I don’t know, if Lugz could threaten Apple with legal action for ripping them off with their Eminem commercial, then I think Apple’s got a case against Wriggley’s. I mean, check out the splice of the Lugz and Apple commercials below. Lugz got Apple to pull their ad based basically on... Read More
