Celebrity Mac Chick Sighting: Paris Hilton

Who knew? Apparently Paris Hilton does have taste after all! Although she seems to be holding a Blackberry 8000 series instead of an iPhone, that MacBook Pro is unmistakable. Paris also seems to prefer the iPod as her Music Player of choice. First Jennifer Aniston, now Paris… if we can just find an Angelina Jolie Mac sighting, we will have a trifecta of the world’s most famous women also being Mac users. (Fianlly! A legitimate excuse to explain to the Bride of... Read More

Review: Scandyna MicroPod SE speakers and dock for iPod

In looking over my recent speaker reviews, I’ve noticed that I have given out quite a few 8 and 9 out of 10 ratings… well, prepare yourself for yet another. It seems as though speaker technology has gotten so good in recent years that it’s almost impossible to make a bad-sounding iPod speaker for $200. Yet as good as the competition has gotten, the $199 Micropod SE’s by Scandyna have upped the ante, and actually sound as good as some $400 speakers we’ve... Read More

It’s official, every iPod accessory has now been made

digg_url = 'http://digg.com/apple/It_s_official_every_iPod_accessory_has_now_been_made; Admit it, your parties suck. What you need is a 5-foot tall, 12-pound inflatable BoomBox to kick your party into high gear. Too bad no one has thought to capitalize on this un-catered to market… UNTIL NOW, THAT IS! Behold the iBig Box, “The World’s Biggest Music Player“, because we all know bigger is better, and big and red is the best there can be. Just plug your... Read More

Wow. Talk about overestimating the value of an iPod!

A 14 year-old Davenport, IA teenager was arrested yesterday after he reportedly stole a female classmate’s iPod and then demanded she send him a sexually explicit video of herself in exchange for its safe return. Davenport Police Capt. David Struckman said the iPod was taken from the girl’s purse last week, and the following day a note was placed in her purse with the demand she perform a sex act and e-mail a video of it to the suspect. Obviously this plan wasn’t... Read More

Review: XtremeMac’s Sportwrap for iPhone/iPod

Above: Know what that is? That’s some top-notch stitchin’, that’s what that is! Now that the weather is warming up, I have decided to (reluctantly) put down the cheeseballs, and start exercising again. I haven’t really been running since last November and a lot has changed since then. First of all, I am ridiculously out of shape. But more importantly, and relevant to this article, is the fact that I have become so reliant on my iPhone over the past few... Read More

Starplayr 1.7.7 brings Sirius Radio to your Mac with style

Above: While I am ashamed to admit I already own this Bulletboys album, it’s nice to be able to know I could record an MP3 of it off Hair Nation if I had to. Don’t let those fugly, horribly designed control buttons fool you, Starplayr by NiceMac is the best-designed Sirius player you will find for the Mac, and yes, it’s free (well, free assuming you have a Sirius subscription of course). What makes Starplayr so cool? Well, first off, not only can Starplayr play... Read More

iPods and iPhones that can heal themselves… We’re one step closer to the robot uprising

We’ve all seen it in movies a thousand times… A snail-loving scientist wonders if there is a way to bond protein to various elements in the periodic table and grow new materials, one thing leads to another, and then BAM! Skynet becomes self aware on August 29th 1997 2:14 am Eastern Time. Well, if the trade-off for our eventual enslavement by robots is an iPod that can heal itself of scratches, then I for one would like to welcome our new robot overlords. According... Read More

How can there be a Flying Spaghetti Monster if it allows THIS to happen?

This story is tragic enough to make even the most resolute disciple question their faith in the almighty, be it God, Jeebus, or The Flying Spaghetti Monster. Above: Well, at least the thieves won’t be able to listen to it. iHate PCs reports that an autistic teen’s iPod was stolen after he showed it to friends at school. The teen in question, Cody Scetto, had saved for months for the iPod, doing odd jobs and shoveling snow to amass the $400. Unfortunately, it would... Read More

Review: Audioengine AW1 Premium Wireless Audio Adapter – It just works

The idea of wirelessly streaming music from a remote home media server to a living room audio system has long been the “Holy Grail” for husbands who have been forced by their wives to move their bulky computers into the basement, and who have been told they cannot drill holes in walls and run wires throughout the house. While in theory I agree that a house looks nicer without a giant CPU tower sitting next to the TV with wires spilling all over the floor, the available... Read More

iSmoke… maybe there IS such a thing as bad publicity

Do you hear that beeping? That is the sound of every one of Apple’s lawyers frantically dialing Lucky Strike’s Germany office. Out of all the potential companies Apple may be looking to create some advertising synergy with, odds are a cigarette company ranks fairly low on the list. Faithful German Macenstein reader Roman sent in this shot of a new Lucky Strike ad that is gracing countless bus stops throughout Berlin. Some clever ad exec no doubt noticed that when... Read More
