Rumor roundup: iPad to ship March 43rd, HDMI coming to some Macs, Netflix coming to iPad/iPhone
I don’t normally comment on rumors, but I really can’t find anything else to wrtie about at the moment, so here’s my 2¢ on a couple of the latest rumors swirling around the interwebs. iPad to ship March 43rd Yes, the rumor mill is now predicting Apple will perhaps miss its March shipping deadline by a couple weeks. Apple has had more than a couple delays in shipping products in the past, and usually for big ones it pre-announces months in advance, so this would... Read More
Reasonable-looking Apple tablet pics surface
As usual, pics of Apple’s top secret device have surfaced exactly 4 hours before the official unveiling. An Engadget tipster has sent out what appear to be pretty convincing shots of an Apple Tablet-like device, bolted to a table (presumably to prevent this sneaky shutterbug from stealing it outright). Note the front-facing camera, and “no carrier” label at the top, in line with rumors of a Verizon wireless contract and video chat. Four more hours… ... Read More

You’ve come to the right place. “ Apparently Mission:Repair is hoping there’re some early iPhone 4G beta testers out there with a case of the butter-fingers looking to get... Read More
iSlate to run 10.7 “Clouded Leopard” OS? OF COURSE! It all makes sense now!!
OK, as with all unconfirmed (and likely 99% 110% fake) iSlate rumors, take this with a grain of whatever condiment you’d like, but faithful Macenstein reader imalk noticed this picture show up on Gizmodo for all of 20 seconds before being pulled. Now, we assume Giz pulled it because they feel it is so fake it isn’t even worth trying to get hits off of, but we’re not so proud. And quite frankly, while I do not personally believe it to be a legit leak, I would... Read More
Looks like the end is near… God backs up the Earth using Time Machine
Speaking of Time Machine, faithful Macenstein reader Danny C thinks he’s figured out what those mysterious lights in the sky over Norway were: Above: I always suspected God used a Mac. Hey Doc: Did you hear about the spiral lights over Norway? Do you think that the government of Norway was simply backing up their computers with a giant Time Capsule? The image looks very familiar. Well, Danny, not to bash Norwegian technology in any way, but that looks a little advanced.... Read More
Is iTunes 9 sporting “Marble”?
Looks like Apple’s rumored “unified interface”, code-named “Marble” might be a comin’ after all… starting with the somewhat UN-unifying iTunes 9 interface. Faithful Macenstein reader Patrick writes: “Hey, if you notice the new look on itunes 9 it is very different than snow leopard etc etc. But is this the marble theme apple said would be included into snow leopard but never turned up. Remember in the past itunes received the new... Read More

Clearing the air on the The iTablet – what we know so far
Talk of a touchscreen “iTablet” has been around since long before the iPhone (and was perhaps inspired by it), but in recent months the interweb has really sunk its teeth into the idea that Apple WILL be releasing an iTablet-like device at some point. While a profitable market for such a device still seems a bit unlikely, many analysts and Mac enthusiast websites now feel the iTablet is a near certainty. What is NOT a certainty, however, is what the device will be,... Read More
I’m 90% sure the “Apple iTablet rumor” is an elaborate hoax by Apple to get Dell to waste money building a competing device
Aside from a $1400 GPS-enabled, touch screen, waterproof, 4 megapixel ROOMBA with a built-in iPod dock, I can’t think of a single Apple-branded device I would less want to add to my digital arsenal than an Apple tablet. Imagine a device that takes all the annoying UI limitations of the iPhone and combines them with all the size and weight of a netbook. And now imagine it at twice the price. Yes, while in Sci-Fi movies people of the future often walk around holding such... Read More
