Slow News Day - Macenstein - Page 9

(Alleged) Celebrity Mac Chick Sighting: Eva Longoria

Well, I have no photo proof of this one, but it being slow news day, and me always on the lookout for an excuse to run a hot picture of a female celebrity, I figured I would go ahead and take the word of one of our most faithful readers, Robert J Taylor. Robert writes: So, in November 2006 I was in Southern California for a job interview (remote Perl application developer with a Santa Monica employer…didn’t work out) and on the flight back (Continental) I met a Mac... Read More

Celebrity Mac Chick sighting: Michelle Rodriguez

Wow. Looks like Michelle Rodriguez is so into her MacBook Pro that she is oblivious to that giant rat by her feet. (And yes, it appears we have finally found a celeb who owns a laptop case! Bravo, Michelle!) [via That Other Blog]  Read More

MacUpdate Bundle of Joy turns back into a pumpkin at midnight

A reminder that the MacUpdate Parallel’s Bundle turns into a pumpkin tonight at midnight, so if you were thinking of picking up Parallels and the other 9 apps for less than the price of Parallels alone, now is your chance. Why won’t celebrities buy a F*$%ing case for their MacBooks?

digg_url = 'http://digg.com/apple/Why_won_t_celebrities_buy_a_F_ing_case_for_their_MacBooks; OK. This is now getting ridiculous. Why can’t celebrities take proper care of their MacBooks? First Jennifer Aniston, then Heather Graham. OK, they’re just girls, what do they know? (just kidding, ladies!) But now here we have George Clooney and Jude Law both dangerously flailing their Macs around as if they were Michael Jackson with a baby. I mean, what if it should... Read More

Apple’s “Word of the Day” Screensaver – keeping us all equally smart

I noticed this yesterday, and thought, this has “slow news day” written all over it. Above: Odds are your Words of the Day today (Sunday, April 20th, 2008) are glengarry, reflexology, aperient, alopecia, and Houdini. Like any true Mac geek, I have 3 Macs in my living room. When looking over at an old G4 PowerMac which had been left idle, I noticed that the word on the “Word of the Day” screensaver looked familiar. I moved my cursor down to my “hot... Read More

Good lord! How old is Apple’s ergonomics page?!

Wow. It looks like Apple’s ergonomics web page predates the internet. Is that an Apple II that 1st guy is using? No wonder he’s suffering from “lightning bolt neck”. Oddly, besides that Apple II-looking thing, there’s not a Mac to be found in any of Apple’s “ergonomic no-no’s” drawings. I suppose the indication here is that unlike PCs, it is impossible for a Mac to cause harm to a human. I think its the 1st law of Mac computing... Read More

Even more rumors: The new iPhones’ specs

Notice the placement of the apostrophe in that title. Faithful Macenstein tipster Doug writes in yet again with insight into 3 upcoming iPhone models allegedly set to be released. Just as the iPod lineup developed and branched out, so does Apple have plans for the iPhone lineup. Here’s some of what is being considered: A “Pro” or “Max” model, that is noticeably thicker than current model (over 15mm, versus 11.6mm for existing iPhone), to incorporate... Read More

Obama’s site pushing the Mac

Faithful Macenstein reader Felipe writes: Hey guys, Seems like the Obama campaign likes Macs because aside from having a very sleek Apple-like website, the downloads page shows not only an iPhone but a MacBook Air! http://www.barackobama.com/downloads/ Just thought you could use this for a slow news day. haha Macenstein faithful, -Felipe Well, you’re in luck Felipe, today is indeed a slow news day (oh, and you missed the cinema display). Normally we try to steer clear... Read More

Dual Celebrity Mac Chick sighting: Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale

On the advice of faithful (and angry) Macenstein reader Dave-O, I have decided to stop criticizing Apple and put up not one but TWO celebrity Mac Chicks. Behold Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. Above: Don’t let the teddy bear fool you, we’re reasonably sure she’s 19. Above: Ashley (center) and Vanessa (right) both seem to enjoy the iPhone. Fans of the High School Musical franchise will recognize these 18-year-old actresses, and fans of Macenstein will recognize... Read More
